Nathan is at Peace

It is with profound sadness that we let everyone know that Nathan earned his Angel Wings Wednesday night at 9:45PM. He passed away with Jen & I at his side talking to him, letting him know that he had fought a valiant battle.
We are extremely thankful for all the thoughts, prayers and support that all of you have given Nate and our family. Please know that he is running around in Heaven with all of the other SMA Angels enjoying all the things that they could not do here with us.

Please accept our deepest condolences. I have followed your blog on and off and really loved to read about Nate, and then later on his brother. Nate always had a smile on his face. He looked like such a happy and sweet boy. Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. But like you wrote, Nate is now running and doing EVERYTHING he was unable to do in this world.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I am just finding this blog through another SMA family and I must say there are some amazing pictures. Cherish them! Your right, Nathan is now in heaven running and doing all the things he wasn't able to do here. I have a niece and nephew that earned their angel wings many years ago due to SMA so I am sure they have greeted Nathan with open arms. Many prayers coming your way!!

I just checked the SMA Support board and found the note about Nathan; I then found this.

While I know Nathan's free and happy and is gone only in the earthly sense, my heart aches for you. As we approach another angel birthday for Jeffrey, it aches for me, too... and for the rest of us.

It was obvious from the pictures that Nathan knew he was loved like crazy (and vice versa!); just imagine him NOW, in the perfect place!

Many hugs and prayers for your family,

Helen ('Lucy')

Trey, I worked for your dad when Nathan was born and I remember his first Halloween outfit. Butch and Carol Ann were super proud! I just want to say with sadness that I am very sorry for your loss. He was blessed to have an amazing family. I kept up with you guys here, it brought many smiles to my face to know that he was still making a way! Doctor's were wrong giving him such a short time, he was a trooper! He was very loved and I want both of you to know that your love and dedication to give Nathan the most that he could have is an amazing testimony! Heaven has a handsome new angel!

Trey and Jen and Owen,
Johnny and I are heartbroken for you. May God hold you in His hand and His angels minister to you to help you make it through this time.
Thanks to Nancy's wonderful communication with us we have been able to keep up with Nate's growth and development and all the progress that you guys made. What a great little guy he was! What great parents and brother you have been. He was blessed by you and you have been blessed by him. May he rest in peace--and cause a little havoc in Heaven :)

I can only say that I am praying for your family at this hard time. I know that Nate was such a special boy. He touched my heart in so many ways. I truly believe he taught me more than I ever taught him. He was a brave and courageous young boy who touched so many lives in his short time here. God bless you all. I wish I could be there but please know that my thoughts and prayers are there with you.

Trey and Jennifer,
I know that this is a very tough time for you and your family. I have kept up with the blog and enjoyed the pictures of Nathan and Owen. I was very blessed to be a part of his life for a while, he was such a wonderful little boy. I can't tell you how sad I am, I know that he is in Heaven now and able to run and play, but he will be missed. He couldn't have had better parents. If there is anything I can ever do for you, just let me know.

Nate touched so many lives during his short time here on earth. We learned from him how to love unconditionally. The staff and children at Bixby North will miss his weekly visits and his never-ending smile.

Trey and Jennifer, our hearts ache for your profound loss. Earth's loss is definitely Heaven's gain. Heaven became just a little bit brighter today with Nathan's shining light. I am sorry that your arms must be aching with emptiness right now. Know that he is at peace in Jesus' Loving Arms. We send our love and prayers, Suzanne & Erinne Williams (SMA 2) Canton, Michigan

Your family is an inspiration to everyone. Caring for someone with medical challenges opens your eyes to the world, allows you to see things from a perspective you never would have otherwise, some good, some not so good. Nathan was a wonderful gift to you, Trey, and Owen, as well as the rest of your family, and he will continue to enrich your lives as years pass. My heart goes out to you. Losing Nathan has left a tremendous void in your lives, but I know that all the love that you gave him will fill that void. Nathan will always be with you in your hearts every second of every day, and he is watching over you from above with some very stellar companions. God Bless!
